For False Knight, I’m basing a lot of the societal norms and culture of Vieland as a mix of Renaissance period Germany and Arthurian legend (which is kind of a weird mix I know). So far my research has been largely focused on heraldry, weaponry, armor, and combat styles.

It varies slightly from country to country, but everywhere (with the exception of 3 countries) is ruled by a Virenthi (dragon lord). In Vieland (the setting of False Knight), Virenthi Flitawyn is the primary ruler, and the country is split into smaller grafschafts which are overlooked by Margrafs

Depends on the culture! It's extremely common in dwarven culture (poor Minno has never been able to grow anything past their muttonchops, it's a sore subject) but there are some species that can grow beards. In Vieland it's more common for masculine folk to be clean shaven (or a small goatee)
