Ric Werme stopped by to get the Stanford NULL job running once again. What a curious piece of simple code that only can be observed on a KA or KI PDP-10.

🏥 Snapshot Saturday! A glimpse into healthcare technology in 1987! Long before tablets and electronic health records became commonplace, nurses were already using computers to access patient information. 🖥️ Look at that massive CRT monitor! #TechHistory #VintageComputer

📸 Snapshot Saturday: An operator at an IBM System/370 console, circa 1972. Before terminals fit on a desk, interacting with a mainframe meant sitting at a console surrounded by cabinets, switches, printers, and enough hardware to fill a room. #VintageComputer

💾 Free Software Friday: z88dk lets modern developers build software for dozens of classic Z80-based machines. Dating back to 1998, this cross-development kit keeps everything from the ZX Spectrum to the MSX and many other 8-bit systems programmable today. #VintageComputer

💾 Throwback Thursday: Remember keeping a boot disk handy? When your PC wouldn’t start, a floppy loaded just enough of an operating system to get you running, troubleshoot the problem, or launch an installer. One little disk could save the day. #VintageComputer

The PDP-7 uses a destructive read restore cycle which has caused bits to flip in the core. Writing small diagnostics on the front panel is a fun way to zero in on faults while crawling the backplane. #vintagecomputer #boeing #pdp7 #unix #vintagecomputing

🛠️ Maintenance Mode: Code isn’t just written for computers—it’s written for the people who will read, debug, modify, and maintain it later. Martin Fowler’s reminder is timeless: readability is a feature. #Programming #VintageComputer

I got my DEC Rainbow 100 running and after a restoration on the unique RX50 dual disk drive. Happy to see my VR201 monitor was fine. I made some floppies and booted up MS-DOS 2.05 and CP/M-86. Here it is booting up MS-DOS. An interesting computer for it's time. #retrocomputing #vintagecomputer

📸 Snapshot Saturday: A Varian Data Machines installation circa 1984, complete with 9-track tape drives. Rooms like this were once the backbone of scientific, industrial, and business computing—and made “data storage” a very physical thing. #VintageComputer
