uemulator now has a WASM JIT that can JIT hot x86_64 blocks into WASM and load them as modules. It took boot time of Debian from 145 seconds to 15 seconds :D

One day, one feature, day 7: write your Mini Me tools in WASM.

Compiled with @tinygo.org , run by #wazero in a #wasm sandbox: only the folders you open, no env vars (so no secrets), no network. A 4B model gets four tools, nothing else.

Safe & Scoped Malleable Systems with Tutuca & Wasm

Safe: Components compile to Wasm modules that only access runtime-provided imports

Scoped: Hierarchical component scopes isolate changes and runtime errors, restricting the blast radius of experiments

This week's lesson: Building a Wasm app that can load Wasm component plugins is not so easy.

You need a runtime that can dynamically load components, but more tricky: you need a way to present one WIT interface to a plugin and a different one from the app that can tell component instances apart.

I do have plans to allow integrations to ship WASM for advanced stuff. Long way to go though, and first things first.

Tried it on V8 14.6 (Node 26): n-body all in Wasm on shared structs, 38 ms vs 104 for our SAB heap. But JS to shared-type accessors don't inline yet (externref ones do): 1.2 s. And ref.cast fails cross-thread. github.com/arv/structs/tree/arv/wasm-shared-experiment/experiments/wasm-shared
