It is not surprising given especially Serbias stance, but still noteworthy that in the new emerging wider Europe, the Western Balkans countries are largely left out.

well, Ukraine obviously. Turkey is sending its VP. Canada and Australia their ambassadors to France. No accession countries in Balkans or beyond.

Just come from an extremely challenging debate with prosecutors, judges and fighters against organized crime in the #Balkan s. All six countries in #WB6 have inspiring personal, committed for better ideas. Thank you and hope enlargement will move on. #Europe is build on committment.

This seems wildly optimistic. I would be positively surprised if even three of the WB6 would fully join the EU within the next ten years, and even that seems optimistic given the experience of even the new dynamic in enlargement since 2022.
