I mean I think it's pretty obvious but they 1000% meant for this to look like a proposal and I am never not thinking about Pei Su proposing with his mother's medallion

Alt: Pei Su (Zhang Xincheng) and Luo Weizhao (Fu Xinbo) in the cdrama Justice in the Dark. They are smiling faintly with amusement together. Pei Su is on the left, wearing glasses and a black and white striped shirt. Luo Weizhao is on the right, wearing a white shirt with a white unbuttoned shirt over the top.

it had it all! so many wonderful tropes but NOT dealt with in a frustrating way! I love them both but good lord, luo weizhao doesn't just wear his heart on his sleeve, he wears his fucking SOUL on his sleeve for pei su. once he was in it NOTHING was standing in his way

This little scene is going to live rent free with me forever.
Why are you staring longingly at each other? Plus the lighting Luo Weizhao is framed by and the almost look of awe on Pei Su's face. It's everything. I love it.

Episode 13 was PERFECT.
Adding the part with him imagining Fei Du using the chair was AWFUL. I hated that. (I mean that affectionately because geez it hurt.🥲)
There were lines of dialogue that were basically word for word from the novel and I'm living for it.

I love SO much that the 'tough' in charge guy was also the caring, feeding guy, looking after his boo in every way possible, I mean omfg I WILL HOLD ONTO YOU. NOT LETTING HIM BE ALONE IN THE DARK ANYMORE. when they have a 'break up', luo weizhao going nope, we're gonna talk this out, I LOVE HIM

writing jitd-canon-specific fic except I've gotten so used to writing their novel names that "Weizhao" keeps coming out as "Weizhou" oh no 😭

I'm putting episode 21 in my top ten episodes of any TV show I've ever watched. These scenes are so important and they did such a good job with them.
It ripped me apart and it was perfect.

I haven't seen Southern Archives yet mydramalist.com/700335-cases... but screencaps imply he might get punched at some point.
Justice in the Dark: mydramalist.com/50145-the-li... so tempting for Luo Weizhao to punch
And that's all I've seen him in, but perfect score

Right you got up for a glass of water not to see why Luo Weizhao was still awake..okay. Also let's just stand here and stare longingly at each other instead of saying the things we want to say. Okay.

OMG, it continues! I'm on ep 6 & 1st prince (who has just arrived on the scene) is played by Fu Xinbo, who was Luo Weizhao (1st ML) in Justice the Dark. So that's now 2 JitD alumni.

This scene was perfect. PERFECT. Ahhh... It's wild how close to the novel this drama has been so far. I'm so impressed. And I cannot say enough about Zhang Xincheng's expressions, he was made for this role.
Anyway look at them.
JUST LOOK.
