First heard it when the rep for their record company brought copies to the music dept of the WHSmiths I was working at back then. Played it to me. Loved it. Took all ten copies he had for the shop. It was something like no.70 in the charts. Boss came back from her day off and exploded. 1/2

At this point, I had accepted I wouldn’t be getting out until the morning,had a treat. Knowing Pepsi keeps me awake,and more chocolate couldn’t hurt.

Look on the bright side, that opening shot has a WHSmiths in it, so at least we'll be able to buy an overpriced pack of pencils and a bar of chocolate together while the country falls apart.

Why do I always fall for the same trap *every* rail journey? Buying a bottle of water from #WHSmiths prior to boarding.....

We found going to Boots and having an advantage card, saves you about £15 over WHSmiths, most airports have both.

The concept of a WHSmiths closing is so strange; those places feel like one of the few spots on a high street that are immortal and immune to being permanently shutdown.

At a UK airport WHSmiths a complete blank from the young lad when asked for postage stamps. Called a manager & still with uncertainty the vape cupboard was unlocked & behold (with choirs of angels and trumpet fanfares) books of various stamps. The killer line, ‘Are these what you’re after?’

WHSmiths is closing down and having a fire sale. Part of me is sad to see it go... But another part of me is unsurprised when you baulk at the price of some items *and* realise that's already 50% off

Yeah I had a bit of a shock when I realised my old home town (which had 5 newsagents in walking distance when I was a kid) now has zero (but 30+ beauty places of various types)
My current home town now only has a TGJones, and used to have 2 corner newsagents plus a Merretts, a Menzies, and WHSmiths.
