This lolly scramble framing is so much of what's wrong with political reporting. Firstly it puts the WIIFM lens over everything, which is so reductive and misleading. Secondly, it makes it sound like they're doling out treats, not necessities for life. It's so fucking aggravating.

If someone could explain to me why Governments are welcoming Data Centres which appear to only exacerbate energy and water shortages and create very few jobs, I'm all ears.
