Social Physics Analysis:
Wagstaffe describes a Smart Altruistic Maneuver. Meteorologists are building transparent coalitions to share communication strategies, fostering empathy to help communities build resilience against extreme weather.

Alethekanon:
Wagstaffe highlights a vital shift: meteorologists are no longer just reading maps; they are frontline translators of systemic crisis. Their struggle is not with the data, but with a polarized public sphere that shoots the messenger.

Great article on one of the many challenges faced by journalists today (written by a pilot).

What on Earth? with Johanna Wagstaffe: There's a lot on Carney's plate. Is our climate plan cooked? Where does climate action fit in with selling off our public assets and resources?

Very interest short video explaining El Nino, and why this one might be different.

In LA, Weinstein's rapes were an open secret for decades before he went to prison: power protected him.
Will @agrobbonta.oag.ca.gov & DAs @countyofsanmateo.bsky.social Stephen M. Wagstaffe, @sccgov.bsky.social Jeff Rosen & @sfgov.sf.gov Brooke Jenkins ever protect CNC survivors, not #AITechRapists?

Helpful summary by @johannawagstaffe.bsky.social about weather conditions.
I'm old enough to remember the uncertainty in 1982-3 about the off-the-charts El Niño then, when a lot of media outlets were still learning about climate oscillations. And this is sounding like that extremely powerful one.
