Bernie and I went to the arboretum today. It felt like summer - 80°! - but that shouldn’t last. The bloodroots apparently appreciated the warmth. We also saw a parade of 7 deer crossing the path ahead of us!

He’s wearing a red harness and a red collar, with red and blue tags. The background is blurry. He is alert, and no doubt wishes we’d be done with this photo business and resume walking and sniffing! This was also Bernie’s first ride in the Telluride. He sat tethered in the front seat, so I could keep an eye on him. I had to pull over once, because he tried rolling in the seat and got trapped by the tether. 🙄 He was much more chill on the way home. A chocolate tricolor beagle is lying on a blue and white blanket, on a grey car seat. We didn’t see much in the way of spring flowers, except for a few bloodroots, but the trillium should make an appearance soon. A bloodroot has pushed its way up through the fallen leaves, and is nearly ready to bloom. There are several more in the background.

I can’t remember the last time Bernie and I walked on the #KalHavenTrail It was delightful to be back there today - although, as expected, it was *really* muddy. It was also 55°!!!!

Lots of snow! There’s not yet a good path thru the park, so Bernie and I stuck to the roads. The tire tracks thru unplowed snow give a sense of how deep it is - a bit much for Bernie!

Photos from a quick walk at #KleinstuckPreserve. We saw several deer with their fawns. Bernie was polite and did not bark at them - he only howled one time, our whole walk, and that was when we met two ladies who apparently weren’t paying him enough attention.

Bernie & I visited the arboretum today. We backtracked twice, as trails were blocked after Thursday’s storm. Other trails had been cleared, so enjoyed our walk. No Bernie photo from the walk, but here’s a “Can you share that?” picture.

One of our favorite walking trails is at Kleinstuck Preserve, and today it didn’t disappoint. We even saw a couple deer - one relaxing on a hillside, one nervously crossing the path to find greens to munch. (No photos, though.)

A few days ago, temps were in the 60s and the sunshine was lovely. Today temps were back in the 30s, it was snowing, and I once again donned my winter coat (Bernie felt no need for his coat). Such is late winter in Michigan.
