The first time I saw Sir Nigel Gresley, I said to myself "That is a gorgeous machine!".
So, I'm looking at changing my, uh, stuff from rpw... to something with Wansford in it, and it turns out Sir Nigel Gresley "lives" in Wansford, Cambridgeshire, England! 😂

Gina is right. The Nene valley between Wansford and Oundle is absolutely gorgeous.
I don’t know why people continue to have such weird perceptions of Northamptonshire though. Here this often forgotten bit of England with its many beautiful villages and honey-coloured stone buildings is referred to as ‘the warehouse capital of the country’.
I have always wondered what was in this mysterious looking Penguin building that popped up about ten minutes walk from my parents’ house / where I grew up and now I know. How amazing!

Wansford Mill and the adjoining Mill farmhouse occupy an quintessentially English, chocolate-box setting between the waters of the West Beck and the Driffield Navigation Canal. Opened in 1770, the navigation transformed the movement of agricultural goods from the Yorkshire Wolds,

#PostboxSaturday Two very different wall mounted boxes spotted at Wansford station on the Nene Valley Railway heritage line during my visit back in May. The red one is the actual Royal Mail postbox while the blue one is for posting letters to Wansford shed resident Thomas the Tank Engine! 🚂
