Tonight the Senate is voting to start debate on the annual defense bill. It's essentially an Iran War authorization bill. A totally unprecedented 50% increase in spending to fund the war without any meaningful restraints.

I'm voting NO.

There’s one thing stupider than spending 1.5 trillion to lose a war to a middle power in the Middle East, and that is spending 1.7 trillion to do so.

We're spending $1 billion per day on war as millions of working people struggle to get by.

Meanwhile, America's ultra-rich have never been richer.

He admitted to spending decades trying to pull us into war with Iran. He finally found someone stupid enough to do it.

They have no problem spending a billion dollars a day on war, but fight for every penny when it comes to caring for Veterans.
The Trump administration is treating disabled veterans like criminals.

Last year Trump slashed funds for healthcare & food programs. Now he's spending $1 BILLION PER DAY on his war of choice in Iran.

While millions here at home can't afford their basic needs, Trump is spending billions on a regime change war that's making us less safe.

"European officials are warning of the risk of Moscow intensifying its hybrid campaign aimed at increasing pressure on Ukraine's allies."

Europeans really need to get beyond the idea that Russia is planning for a hybrid war. This is what preparations for a real war look like.

Crockett: When you're at war, you’re not worried about your outfit. If he was walking around in the fanciest suits, I'm sure that they would accuse him of taking our dollars and spending it on his wardrobe

The US is spending more than $1 trillion on the military for the first time in history.

That apparently isn't enough. Now, the Pentagon wants $200 billion more for an illegal war in Iran.

The answer is NO.

We need to invest in the American people, not endless war.

Brown University has a widget that tracks the cost of the Iran war to American consumers (as contrasted to whatever the Pentagon is spending).

Per-household cost now exceeds $600.

The Senate cannot authorize an unprecedented $1.14 trillion in defense spending for Trump to continue his disastrous war at the expense of the American people.

I will vote no on the NDAA unless my amendment to end this illegal war is included.

Enough is enough.

The problems with US government spending priorities are vast and extremely depressing/enraging much of the time. I desperately wish much more was spent on improving people's lives directly, and much less on war. Science spending just isn't really part of that particular equation.
