people say that they're going to use waterfox instead, as if that's in any way an effective boycott… waterfox as a fork is entirely dependent on firefox. if you somehow managed to strangle firefox, the non-profit, of an income, waterfox would *immediately* cease to be.

This is a fully optional experience that you have to turn on yourself and is separate from your regular browsing.
In fact, you don't have to use AI features in Firefox period. You can choose to enable or block features entirely in Settings > AI Controls.
