sometimes you get to have no worries and just look at how simple stuff happens. how the ant carries a crumb of your cookie, how the leaf go as if it were a little boat on the waterpath.

i'm a trader joe's wake-up blend guy, made in my prized possession, a no-moving parts, all stainless-steel waterpath Bunn pourover. just pour water in the top and it displaces the hot water in the tank right into the grounds. can't get much more straightforward than that.
a Bunn coffee maker, the kind you might see behind the counter in a diner, but it's on a residential kitchen counter, all stainless steel, dripping coffee into a half-gallon insulated thermal carafe

A little embroidery fun before I zonk off to sleeeep.

Turquoise and green running stitch on mustard/goldenrod linen Tahari shirt. Back and sleeves done. I don't usually name shirts, but this one is 'Waterpath'. Once the stitching is all done, I have larger flat turquoise glass beads to sew on.
Sleeve detail showing a triangle capping upper hem on sleeve. Both ends of each turquoise/green thread have a multicolored glass seed bead threaded on them, and a frayed end. Back of Tahari shirt below plain yoke: semi-random geometric patterns in running stitch with tassel ends.

Today in #publicart we've got a wonderful piece, developed by Judith Baca: The Great Wall of Los Angeles, covering the story of California from pre-historic times to the 1950s. It was created by more than 400 youths and artists in 1978. It's along the Tujunga Wash in the San Fernando Valley.
