The thing with Minneapolis is that they make their waterfronts public parks lined with long and continuous all ages bike trails.
Here in Seattle (outside of downtown) we let a few rich homeowners take that away from us. If they can’t play nice, they should be eminent domained lol

Waterfronts should connect us to nature, not traffic. Prioritizing walking and cycling keeps these spaces vibrant and accessible while protecting water, our most precious resource, from pollution caused by cars and their infrastructure.

What cities have the most underutilized waterfronts?
Across the U.S., working waterfronts are disappearing. Out of 5,000 miles of Maine coastline, only around 20 are still dedicated to ocean commerce.

We should stop letting the wealthy take away waterfronts from the people. Not everything should be for sale for private ownership.
Earlier this evening members of the public entered the Cedar Lake encroachment zone, starting from the south beach. Our leader was an 80 year old man named Jake, who's watched too many park board meetings for his own good. He let us know how many feet of public land was available in each "backyard."

Our waterfronts (Lake Washington Boulevard, Beach Drive, Harbor Avenue) need to become places for people to safely gather, not fear for their lives.
Beach drive needs a road diet and PBL It’s a Quality of Life issue for residents.

• Congress can override local laws
• Small enough to lock down & rezone
• Built-out infrastructure ready to repurpose
• Trophy: controlling the nation’s capital

Waterfronts were decaying industrial zones and the water was highly polluted! One would have been crazy to propose recreation or shopping there!
