I've found Wayvnc to be the easiest/actually works Wayland remote desktop solution.
For some reason it's available on Debian stable and unstable, but not testing. That being said, if you just download a copy from unstable, it works in testing 😄

I've found Wayvnc to be the easiest/actually works Wayland remote desktop solution.

Awful. Spent a while getting quite a number of deps for wayvnc and wayvnc in a good spot. No one had the faintest interest in mentoring or sponsoring or anything. It took a other ~18 mo for someone to get around to doing their own packages. Bother.

You can run remote graphical programs via waypipe.
Eg: waypipe ssh user@server appname
It does need to be installed on both ends though.
But most big DEs (GNOME,KDE) have built-in RDP support and you can connect using Remmina/KRDP etc.
There are other protocol options too like Rustdesk, wayvnc etc.

managed to jankily get a laptop working as a second monitor using a virtual hyprland output, wayvnc, and some adb fuckery (because im using a mix of usb tethering and wifi hotspot)

I really hope Debian can get better at this. I tried submitting wayvnc and it's numberous dependencies a long time back and got told to pound sand basically.

this is actually surprisingly easy btw i just run labwc headless and use wayvnc to you know... use it. it's kind of funny how audio just works fine
