Have you ever just stopped and thought "It's been a long time since I've heard of a story with the Weaponers of Qward." ? Because I just did. And I am not proud.

If the Weaponers of Qward are even mentioned, I'll need to be defibrillated from excitement.

So, would be talking abour The Weaponers of Quard in relationship to the LANTERNS series be too much like overthinking from having too much comics stuff in the back of my head?

Speaking of missed opportunities -- as we were, recently -- SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE came out December 15, 1978. What Superman stuff did DC put out on the spinner racks earlier that month, to maybe entice moviegoers into grabbing up comics and being ushered into the DCU?

This would, by the way, absolutely inform me doing a GL take. The Manhunters a failed early attempt at automating the workforce, Weaponers of Qward inferior parts brought in from unregulated markets, and so on

* Never really been sold on Lianna being a real Guardian of Oa. On top of other shady things, her insistence on keeping Hal out of the loop feels more like avoidance to remain disguised. Initially thought she could be a Zamaron, but last week's episode makes the case for Weaponers of Qward.

Either Lanterns was made by morons who fucked up the CGI rendering of a Guardian so it came out looking like a Weaponer, or by master storytellers in which the Weaponers manipulated John's dumb ass into stealing Hal Jordan's Green Lantern Power Ring, Sinestro's Dark Lantern Lamp, and, essentially,

They’re the Weaponers of Qward. Figuring out weapons is their whole deal.

ooh, i like the design of bronze age weaponers

The further this story progresses the more confused I become. The town has all but disappeared save for Jo, Hal and Todd. Sojourner is able to open up communication with Abin Sur but her gold wedding ring further complicates matters. The Weaponers of Qard are mentioned and Hector Hammond debuts.

The Weaponers of Qward are going to destroy the Earth and to help eliminate the JLA they recruit the JLA's latest ally, Two-Face.

Two-Face agrees to help destroy Earth in exchange for all the riches Qward can provide him.

evil aliens with winged helmets and access to a green lantern ring and yellow fear energy crystals. they were absolutely setting the thanagarians up to be this setting's version of the weaponers of qward.

I am very jazzed for all of the theories being floated around LANTERNS.

I will bravely state that I do not believe that the Weaponers of Qward are involved. Brave!

(The only thing better than them not being involved and proving me right, would be me being wrong, because Weaponers of Qward!)

Weaponers of Quard?

#Lanterns 🔋💍

The Guardians have accepted Hal’s resignation but his final mission finds him captured by the Weaponers of Qward who plan to use him and his ring to create an Anti-Matter Green Lantern Corps.

Now Hal faces the threat alone.

His only hope for survival lies with the GLC’s newest member, Arisia.

#65YearsAgoToday #TheWeaponersOfQward debuted in @dc.com #GreenLantern #comics #2 when #TelleTeg from #TheAntiMatterUniverse ruledBy evil #Weaponers crosses the #TransformerBridge toEarth to solicit GL’s help via #HalJordan in #CarolFerris’ office cause he’d read Hal & GL #areRivalsForHerAffection 😂

Sensational! This comic has it all! Poison Ivy! Metallo! The Penguin! Weaponers from the anti-matter universe of Qward! The Doom Patrol! And more!!!
September 27, 2023 at 4:11 PM
ooops this was a joke but now i think this would be a really great idea like what if your job was Special Investigator for the Green Lantern Corp and like your job was to go to a place that was having problems and seeing if they were secretly being caused by the Weaponers of Qward
Green Lantern series that's actually based on the UN, and so it's 90% the space politics of figuring out who has jurisdiction and when the conditions are adequate to warrant Green Lantern intervention.

What do you think the Weaponers of Qward do?
June 2, 2024 at 9:34 PM
You get Green Lanterns and one (1) yellow ring made by the Weaponers of Qward
July 11, 2024 at 9:12 PM
The Anti-Corps of Weaponers is a really cool idea, and they look awesome
April 7, 2024 at 3:47 PM
There was an issue of Green Lantern a million years ago where GL and Sinestro strike an interim truce to fight the Weaponers of Qward, and do it for just that purpose.
That’s how I feel here. She can act normally all she wants here, but she’s still an enemy of goodness and decency.
October 9, 2025 at 7:40 PM
and then like you had to cope with the fact that sometimes it WAS the Weaponers of Qward and you can advocate for Lantern Corp intervention, but sometimes it WASN'T, it was just a home-grown supervillain or something that didn't represent a sector-wide space threat and you had to just leave it

Don't be hating on Larvox.

They battled Nekron and helped Hal stop the invasion of the Weaponers of Qward (those are the bastards who created the Yellow Rings.)
