It is a lt 17th/ea 18th c trade bead. Likely associated with a Native American settlement around Prophetstown, but after the battle, possibly the family given a treaty reserve. It was coincidentally found with a modern screw. It was an exciting find to explore! #archaeology #WhatIsItWednesday

I was victorious this week in the #WhatIsItWednesday challenge set by the Museum of Everyday Life on Instagram.
It was a Braille notepad.

#WhatIsItWednesday? A fan makes for an unusual object in a regimental collection but here we have one taken from a Japanese staff car after an attack by the 6th Bn, Welch Regiment, in 1944. The battalion ambushed a colony of Japanese vehicles on the road from Maymo to Mandalay in Burma during #WW2.
