He clipped the memo into it and stood up again, before retrieving a pencil. A short and gloomy walk down the stairs later, he found himself in the dungeon. The hall and cells were carved of grey stone, while the doors were constructed from greater holly and reinforced with iron, both of which were resistant to magic. No guards were present, but a trio of voices were shouting from the cells at the far end of the room. He sighed again and pressed forward, stopping beside the back wall. Text: The scale of the walls was almost overwhelming in person. Ryelin hadn't appreciated that from up on the hill. Though composed mostly of grey stone, patches of plaster suggested the walls had once been smoothed over and painted. The old man suggested this meant it was probably from or at least survived into the Enlightened Period. It was only after that period that worship of the gods had begun to decline. Ryelin and the twins lead the way, hacking through the undergrowth around the ruins as they searched for a entrance or a low enough wall to climb over. They were rewarded with a grand archway. Crumbling stone basins stood to either side, bases buried in the forest humus. They pushed forward, weaving through the trees and columns, as a grand statue came into view. It had to be at least ten feet tall, gleaming with non corrosive gold, a six armed woman with a disk on her back. Ryelin signaled for his group to stay back. There was something else. He crept closer to inspect the corpse lying there before the statue, with a cloak spread over it. He knew the young man was freshly dead, he'd seen such bodies before. Bloodlessly pale, gaunt, pale blue eyes half open, but fully unseeing. He probably chose this place to die. Maybe he'd been ill a while. Still that cloak looked expensive. Dark mottled dyes, embroidered with bright stars, and fringed with golden fabric.

Loads! A few stand out - we had a fab week near Cromer once (Thorpewood cottages), a few trips to the Isle of Wight - chalets at Whitecliff Bay off season, and one doozer to Tresco in the Scilly Isles. Basically we’d look for a bargain with outings nearby, often last minute, and take off.
