These Western Wild Ginger plants were a fun find last weekend! (Asarum caudatum) #WildGinger #Flowers

A bit difficult to get a good angle on as they were on a moderately steep slope and moved too much in the light breeze for a composite shot. #BloomScrolling #Nature

A portion of the wild ginger that while edible apparently contains aristolochic acid which is a known carcinogen. These spread rhizomatically and covered a good square meter of the slope just off trail at McCormick Forest Park in Gig Harbor.

One of the many flowers that grows under the leaves of the stem they are associated with. The leaf in the foreground is another stem/leaf that did not have its own flower at this point.

Another flower growing associated with a couple of leaves growing from stems seen just behind the gorgeous triple-pointed purple flower.

Small green plant in wood mulch. Plant tag reads ASARUM CANADENSE WILD GINGER. Perennial. Part to full shade. 6-10". Soft green, heart shaped follage. Space 8-12". Red flowers are hidden underneath follage In early spring.

We also have a little bit of other plants! On the left is supposedly the beginning of our #WildGinger, but l'm not sure since l'm no expert. It certainly seems like it, but l'd have to do a bit of research.

We also have an old #Rose plant of sorts! I'm not sure what type yet.
