I’ve spent the past week in the Highlands surrounded by nature. I also picked up the beautiful Wildful by Kengo Kurimoto. It got me thinking about books that forefront our connection with nature.

Wildful by Kengo Kurimoto is one of the most visually stunning graphic novels I've seen in a long time. Almost wordless and with beautiful sepia illustrations, it's a wonderfully 'quiet' story about friendship and grief that encourages us to think about the healing power of nature. @pushkinpress.com

Three of my favourites this month. Wildful is an absolutely stunning graphic novel that deals with grief and nature. Queen Macbeth was an interesting retelling and The Baby Dragon Cafe was just a cosy delight.

I love middle grade graphic novel Wildful so much, I sent my mom a copy for her birthday. It captured the sense of wonder in the natural world my parents instilled in us. Kengo Kurimoto has created a book that we will all treasure. #kidlit #graphicnovel

It’s #GraphicNovel mastery. Mostly wordless: Matches quietude of the forest, plus grief issues. Black/white/sepia tones, yet feels vibrant. Focus on close observation of nature, beauty, finding wonder. Micro details of character facial expressions to convey emotion—stellar.
