[Current days, post 7.0] Empyreum.

It was the time for the couple to go to sleep...

Once their children were asleep, the couple silently closed the door and headed inside their chambers. Stellaris climbed on the bed first, adjusting her body to embrace the comfort of the pillows and the sheets and awaiting for the embrace of her beloved, their usual cuddling. Estinien chuckled tenderly at her sight. -Exhausted, aren't you? -He inquired. -And grateful... -Stellaris spoke softly as she struggled to stay awake, her eyelids felt heavy. - Mon amour, is this happiness real? I am beyond fortunate to have met you and walk together on this path, bringing to this world our most precious treasures. -Aye, t'is real. -Estinien leaned in to kiss her on her forehead. Stellaris' lips curled into a sweet smile. -Convinced enough? -Mmm... Maybe? -She joked in a playful tone. - I may require more proofs of your statement, Ser. -Well, well... Someone is being fussy. -Will you indulge me? -Now and always. [...]

[...] -ENOUGH! The woman interrupted the argue with a scream, shielding her mentor with watery eyes. -Perhaps you execute merciless as Nidhogg does? You don't want justice, just hurt as much as you were hurt. What will be left once you kill him? Shed blood is not paid with more blood. You won't have more to appreciate nor protect if your world is surrounded by dead. -Stellaris was infuriated, drawing her spear while cleaning her tears fervently. - I won't allow you to step forward to condemn yourself and your loved ones!! -Stellaris... -Estinien's voice was broken. - In you, I thought I had found kindred, someone beside me whom I could fight the great wyrm. It is with a heavy heart that I relinquish that dream. Your affection for this coward has rendered you deaf to your own destiny. Very well. That we would one day cross lances was inevitable from the moment of our first meeting - as we shall now find out who is the Eye's true chosen. There can be only one! [...]

[2.0] Coerthas Central Highlands - Double Dragoon

Ser Alberic and Stellaris answer Estinien's call...

[...] -But first, you must win the drachen mail as I and Ser Alberic did before you, by proving yourself worthy in the ultimate trial of the Azure - a series of battles so harrowing as to send the unworthy to an early demise. -Estinien explained. - Master. Once the adventurer acquires the armor, pray see to it that she learns to harness the power of the dragon in full. -Estinien, wait! -Alberic begged, extending his hand forward. -Save your worries. I do not mean to make myself easy prey for dragons. -Estinien eased, then glanced at Stellaris. -I take my leave of you. Estinien turned his back on then, marching a couple of steps forward, until Stellaris walked towards him. -I accept your proposal and I'll join your cause, Estinien. - she placed a hand on her heart. -I do not want to see more blood shed, including yours. I will face the trial, however, stay alive until then. He stopped midway, with a smirk showing under his helmet before jumping away into the snowstorm.

#ffxiv #wolstinienweek2026 #XIVArt #Estillaris
[...] Stellaris had noticed how Estinien's body had two new scars, one in his right elbow, and another in his left shoulder. The same place Nidhogg's eyes engraved on his armor and skin, traces of the living inferno he endured. Before he fully covered his torso, she stopped him by gently caressing the exact spot. -The chirurgeons were able to help with most of my recovery, although my body and mind will always remember the hatred, the pain and the losses of those days. -Estinien was honest, explaining calmly while awaiting for her reaction. -Proofs of the battle you faced and survived so we're together now. -Stellaris continued with a soft smile, almost whispering, finishing her sentence with a kiss on the mark. -Hmm, those words sound familiar... -a smirk appeared on his face, amused. -I wonder about their origin. -I can attest these words had been an unexpected yet welcome help for me, a beacon of hope when I needed them the most. -She confessed, content. - Thank you, my beloved.

[...] -I was waiting for you, Stellaris. -Estinien had a soft smile, his gaze somewhat tired yet with a tender spark. - That clothing... Don't tell me you've dressed up for me. -his tone shifted to a more insinuating nuance. -I wanted to please your eye. -Stellaris blushed, holding her basket. -Does it suit me, Estinien? -You look lovely. - he was smiling at her, delighted. -consider this Dragoon impressed. -Thank you so much. -she returned another smile while playing with a hair lock, twirling it with her finger. Just after Stellaris grabbed a chair to sit down, Estinien made room for her in his bed so she got comfortable next to him. With pleasure, she accepted his gesture. -I perceive you a little shyer. -he noticed, remarking playfully. -You and I are familiar with each other. -Because I feel glad to be with you, much more when you flatter me with that beautiful smile and that sweet gaze. -Stellaris admitted. -At this pace, I'll be hospitalized due to diabetes! + -Then I'll ask for you to be my roommate. -Estinien joked. Both ended chuckling in a low voice, enjoying that entertaining atmosphere. -How are you feeling? -Stellaris was pondering if she could touch him or not. -Does anything hurt you? -My body feels heavy. -Estinien struggled with moving his arms. -You had a difficult surgery, it's a relief you're safe at last. -she caressed his face with cherish. -Can I give you a kiss? -I was desiring it, milady. -he closed his eyes. -Come closer. It had been a while since they last put their lips together, looking for each other, longing. There was a warm feeling, even cozy at that hospital room. Estinien inhaled deeply, smelling something. -What do you carry there? It smells nice. -He felt attracted to it. -I baked some muffins for you. I barely use salt, sugar or oil, I hope it's of your liking. He gave a good mouthful to one muffin, nodding as a sign of approval. -You're a woman of many talents, it's delicious. [...]

Day 6 - Battle/Duty

They always have each other's backs.

#kalistinien #wolstinien #wolstinienweek2026
Estinien and Kalila bump fists on a battlefield ringed with flames. Estinien smirks as he speaks. "My lance is yours, Warrior of Light. Let us go and rain down hell." They both drop into fighting stance as he continues. "That's a giant blasphemy. Strategy?" Kalila answers him calmly. "I see no reason to stray from our usual strategy. You do your fancy dragoon tricks, and I'll punch the blasphemy in the face. Deal?" Estinien chuckles. "Always unshakeable, even when facing the bloody Final Days. I like it. Deal. Now let's do this."

#kalistinien #wolstinien #wolstinienweek2026
Vidofnir looks between the two of them, an amused look in her eyes. "All is well here. Travelling companions? That is a strange phrase to use, dragoon. Your scents combine. You are lovers." Kalila and Estinien both start in surprise, both of them making mostly incoherent shocked noises as they look up at the dragon. Kalila blushes profusely, looking away from the dragon as Estinien facepalms, muttering to her. "For Fury's sake... I told you she would know." Estinien slips his arms around Kalila's waist, pulling her close against his chest and smiling down at her as she looks lovingly up at him. He tightens his hold on her with a soft chuckle, his voice amused. "No point denying it now, eh? Our secret, sniffed out by a dragon. It almost seems fitting."

#kalistinien #wolstinien #wolstinienweek2026
Kalila stands in Anyx Trine, deep in conversation with Vidofnir and wearing travelling gear. Her posture is open as she speaks with the dragon. "Yes, much has happened ere we last spoke, Vidofnir. I imagine you have heard tales of our travels to Tural?" Vidofnir gives Kalila an impassive yet not unkind look. "Yes. We received word from Ser Aymeric. Have you heard aught of the dragonslayer in recent moons?" Estinien walks into the room, raising his voice a little to call out in answer. "Of course she has. We are travelling companions, after all. Well met, Vidofnir. How fare the dragons of Anyx Trine?" Kalila answers his question, turning her attention back to the dragon as Estinien moves to join the two of them. "Vidofnir has just been telling me of recent events here. 'Twould seem all is well, thankfully."

#kalistinien #wolstinien #wolstinienweek2026
Estinien turns to her properly now, a faintly amused expression on his face. "Heh. Practical. And stubborn." Estinien crosses his own arms, looking down and away from her as he muses. "Mayhap I shall discover a different kind of faith now that I have laid down my title... and my own fury." The camera shows them from behind again, showing that they have subtly turned towards each other. He continues speaking. "I should like to see new lands. There is little left here for me. Thank you, Kalila. For your aid... and your stubbornness." He steps forward, turning back to her and giving her a wave with a soft smile as he prepares to head onward to new adventures. "Fare you well, my friend. Mayhap someday our paths shall cross again."

#kalistinien #wolstinien #wolstinienweek2026
Estinien and Kalila stand in front of Saint Reymanaud's Cathedral, their backs to the camera. Snow falls around them as Kalila speaks, her tone and her body language tense. "I don't think I'll ever understand the way people give over all their hope to deities." The camera swings around to a front view. Estinien is quiet, wearing his travelling outfit, while Kalila crosses her arms as she continues. "Or worse still, men like Thordan." Estinien's eyes flick to her, his voice a little gruff as he answers, although his words hold no judgement. "You are not of Ishgard. Or Coerthas. You would understand if you were. In these cold wastelands, faith in the Fury keeps the blood warm." She doubles down. "Hmph. I believe in what I can see. What I can feel. The elementals. Nature. What need have I for the Fury when fire keeps me warm?"

#kalistinien #wolstinien #wolstinienweek2026
Estinien smirks at her, a soft look on his face despite his words. "Don't push your luck. You're a capable ally. I'm always glad to have you by my side on the battlefield, and otherwise." She gives him a soft half-smile as snow falls around them. "After what I did out there, I'll take it. Thank you for always being there when I need you, Estinien." The camera zooms right out to show them standing together, a little closer now, nobody else around as night begins to fall. He repeats the promise he made to her after they returned from Garlemald. "You have my lance, always. That hasn't changed, even though you're still a brat." The camera swings behind them to show how close they're standing together now as she good-naturedly returns his quip. "And you have my strength whenever you need it. Even though you're still an idiot."

#kalistinien #wolstinien #wolstinienweek2026
Kalila sidles up closer to Estinien, who is standing on the ledge outside the Rostra. The image shows them both from behind as they look out at the view, several falms apart. Her body language is hesitant, while his is tense. Her voice is quiet as she addresses him. "Alphinaud said you'd be here. You've been quieter than usual, since we got back from Ultima Thule. Are... are you angry with me?" The camera moves to show Estinien squeezing his eyes shut, tense, his jaw tight. Kalila is looking away from him as he answers, voice low and gruff. "Does it bloody matter? You're reckless, Kalila. You know it, I know it. But 'tis not my place to judge... because I'm just as stubborn as you are." He turns to look at her, his eyes searching hers as she finally looks back at him. His expression remains tense. "But seeing as you're asking... aye. You bloody scared me, and I'm not an easy man to scare. But you're my dearest friend... well, almost family. My fellow Scion." She can't help but laugh a little, the tension breaking as Estinien returns her smile. Her voice is warm, full of amusement. "Careful, Estinien. For a moment there, it almost sounded as if you actually like me."

It's all a matter of perspective.

#kalistinien #wolstinien #wolstinienweek2026
Her attention caught by the large burn scar on his left shoulder, she reaches out to touch it before stopping herself, her hand hovering. Her voice is hesitant when she speaks. "Your scars... from Nidhogg? Do... do they hurt?" Estinien's expression is guarded, yet still a little soft, his usual stoicism falling away for a moment. He makes no effort to move, instead answering her directly. "No. Not anymore. On;y the shame that I left myself open to his influence. I hide them for that reason alone." The camera shifts so that more of his scars are visible, the one on his right arm visible faintly through the water. His voice softens as he continues speaking. "If it were anyone else seeing them but you, I'd leave. But you were there. You saved my life, Kalila. If anyone has earned the right to touch them... it's you." Kalila lets her fingers gently brush the scarred, raised skin, her eyes finding his. Her words, when they come, are full of resolve. "There's no shame in these scars, Estinien. They're your story, etched into your skin. And that makes them beautiful. Honourable."

Kalila, a female Viera wearing swimwear, sits on a bank in Kozama'uka at nighttime. She is addressing someone off camera, resting her chin on her hands. "You really are following us, aren't you?" The camera moves to reveal Estinien sitting chest-deep in the river in front of her, his back to her as he smiles wryly. He is shirtless, and his scars are visible as he answers her. "Speak for yourself, Warrior of Light. Can't a man bathe in peace?" He half looks over his shoulder without turning around, his voice amused. "Well, come on then. Join me." Kalila sits down beside him, mirroring his cross-legged position but leaning on one knee and resting her head on her hand as she looks at him with an open expression and voices her thoughts. "It's peaceful here. And the company's decent, too."

"It means a great deal to share this with you, Estinien. Thank you... for wanting to know me... who I was before I was a Scion." Rice balls now devoured, she takes his hand, raising the other in a pointing gesture as he looks over at her with another half smile. She meets his eyes, her tone decisive. "Now, come on. Let me show you the real Kugane. I hope you're ready." The camera pans to behind them as they walk off hand in hand. Estinien's voice is affectionate as he answers. "I'm ready.
