The mystery object is... a wobbulator attached to the AMES type 11. A wobbulator or 'wobbling oscillator' was used to test the response of a receiver across different frequencies. A similar device was used by Delia Derbyshire to create audio tones, which became the distinctive Dr Who theme tune.

Opening tomorrow at The Brew House! I made a wobbulator with my friend Harrison Apple. Artist, Jen Kutler showed us how! Then I put a thermal camera through the wobbulator and I would really like it if people came and watched themselves touch themselves.

Sitting back this Sunday reading about Nam June Paik. I’ve been waiting for a good biography about him and found it today at Powell’s. Still can’t believe that one time I got to make art with the Paik/Abe Wobbulator.
