they call it woeusb because you realize you have to use it and go "woe is me i wish i could just write windows ISOs to usb drives like I can with Linux"

Der Laptop rennt auf Linux. Hat mich schon wieder Nerven gekostet, das Win-Bootmedium zu erstellen, es gibt immer etwas, das nicht sofort funktioniert. Darn you, WoeUSB. 🙄

Bit of both on a fresh Framework laptop. Had trouble getting it to recognize the Windows install stick / drivers. Sorted that with WoeUSB.
Then I realized I needed to setup partitions first using the Ubuntu USB stick, then install Windows, then install Ubuntu, then encrypt the Ubuntu partition. 😩

this has genuinely driven me nuts for ages and it's kind of wild that woeusb is basically the only way to do this

1. Du versuchst ein Paket zu installieren, das es nicht gibt ... was Du da installieren willst, ist ein Python-Paket. Versuche ein:
"udo pip3 install WoeUSB-ng"
... und achte auf die Abhängigkeiten:
"sudo apt install git p7zip-full python3-pip python3-wxgtk4.0 grub2-common grub-pc-bin 👉

I used to be madder until I was told that isos booting over USB drives at all is appearently an afront to god that shouldn't have ever been possible.

Acho pratico, especialmente pra quem não consegue criar um Pendrive bootavel do Windows em sistemas Linux, seja pelo Image Writer apenas copiar os arquivos da ISO, e não aplicar a raiz bootavel, seja por problemas de instalação do WoeUSB, ou se a pessoa ta fugindo do Terminal.

Install balenaEtcher on Ubuntu 24.04 or 22.04 for safer USB and SD flashing. It also covers the current 26.04 package issue and when WoeUSB is better for Windows media.
