This is a really cool release! Zero4 Champ is the first entry in a drag race RPGs series that started on the PC Engine but later saw installments on a variety of systems. The creator of the series, Yutaka Kaminaga, would later found WorkJam who developed several games in the Jake Hunter series.

I once read a comment that expressed any game worth translating has surely already been translated so there are no good games left. How wrong they were!

The second Theresia... game, Dear Lizst, isn't included here, and the mobile version is unavailable after the dissolution of WorkJam.
Wikipedia suggests it didn't have any direct connection to the plot, with just some character names being mentioned, which softens the blow, but it's still a shame.

I enjoyed this a lot. The crazy mother-daughter relationship in Emile is a real standout, but I'll refrain from spoilers. It's better if people experience it for themselves.
(Also, this being a WorkJam game was part of what got me playing Shinguji Saburo, so I have to thank it for that too.)

I played through Theresia on the DS recently, which was also a WorkJam title. That was a really solid game, too, so I'm looking forward to trying Cross Tantei Monogatari soon-ish.
(The parts that aged like milk, not so much, but I'm glad to hear it's good other than that!)

I checked the entire list of JPG URLs, this was the only image I could find (spoiler for those who know what game it will be from this). Too bad the only magazines on IA from that period seem to be Famitsu Xbox and Arcadia.

hm. when i checked last weekend, workjam had me scheduled for sunday 9/6 and then the following saturday 9/12 but now i see i'm no longer scheduled. which has me thinking about my paycheck from two weeks ago in which i was paid out the rest of my vacation hours and personal 🤔
