#WorstBirdPic
Came across this amusing #WorstBirdPic from my archives. The bird is in focus even! There just isn’t very much of it. lol

I don't ONLY take many a #worstbirdpic, ...I also take a mean #worstbirdvid. Here's the full-length, no-edit, TRYING-MY-BEST, director's cut of a beautiful and graceful Forster's Tern. 🪶

That time I thought I saw a rare rail across a pond. Spoiler alert: it was a Common Gallinule. Still pretty cool. But these pics. It’s like a #worstbirdpic montage. 🪶

Indeed! This guy was about 100 yards away, at the closest…
Close enough to make out kestrel, otherwise #worstbirdpic 🤷‍♂️

I have a lot of pics and stories to share from Cape May but first there’s a burning question. (The answer determines if I have a lifer or not.) So, …Purple Sandpiper? Not that one, the other one. (look lower) #worstbirdpic
(seen Oct. 22 on the Higbee jetty) Come on, you geniuses, help me out. 🪶

LOL
Ruby-crowned Kinglet doing that thing they do (zip all over like they’re playing “the tree is lava.”) But at least you can see its little golden feet!

In this photo you definitely NOT appreciate the eye ring, short beak and tail of the Ruby Crowned Kinglet, or how it constantly flicks its wings while foraging almost frantically through shrubs and trees

Thanks! I like it too and was not inclined to tag it as a #WorstBirdPic

This weekend was pretty much a bust for photos. Saw some interesting fall migrants but they were united in terrible lighting, and general zippiness in dense foliage 😂. Today it rained. Here’s a #worstbirdpic that managed to at least provide solid ID of my first Pine Siskin of the fall #birds

This weekend we took a boat trip out to an island off the coast of maine to see puffins and other seabirds. 🪶 The only thing that could have improved the trip is SLIGHTLY less fog.

I'm so excited to be digging into my photos and finding masterpieces like this common tern shot! 😍
