There were rules in the Centralist’s domain. Rules about intermingling between social classes— ones that existed solely within the Center District, nowhere else in Vangrel. Outsiders were at the bottom. Lindesa Edison was at the top. The rest of them fell somewhere on that ladder, and Calypso had climbed quite high. Many militia members did— and their dedication proved their worth enough to let them climb, if they could. Calypso had earned that right. So had Adaline, and just about everyone else who still worked in the Underground as a tormentor. Sadiah was an outsider. Her (legal) infiltration into the Underground would never have happened if not for Calypso’s interference. The caveat being that the girl would be killed should her employment reach this terminal stage.

"I think that you've actually improved since the last time we battled." Borias smiled at him as he parried the next strike. "Now that your father is no longer in control of my actions." Arcann nodded in agreement. "I always wondered about that." For a moment, Arcann paused "Curious. Why do you use the sword and not the lightsaber?" Borias smiled at him. "I use both, but i prefer the vibrosword. It does not hurt to exercise both abilities, though." He flicked the classic vibrosword over his left shoulder and the gentle hiss of the metal and hum of the electricity sheathed into his back. With a flick of his hand he released the lightsaber at his right hip and a burst of purple plasma glowed from it. "Purple? that means..." Arcann began. "perfect balance in the force." Lazuli finished as she approached them, her blue hands holding two small children. One with a shock of black hair like his father and ruby eyes like his mother. the other boy favored his mother with the blue skin of a Chiss, but deep blue eyes like his father. Borias retracted the saber and re-hooked it to his hip. "Daddy! the boys exclaimed as they trotted up to him, giving him a hug. Borias wrapping his arms around the boys in a tight hug. "You have a beautiful family." Senya said as she sat on the bench watching them. Borias smiled, picking them up in one swift swoop, cradling them on both hips. Lazuli smiled at her. "We were fortunate. I'm so happy everything turned out well for us." "But not for Zakuul." Senya said sadly. "It won't be the same now that Izax had destroyed it." "We will rebuild it, but you are correct. It will be different." Borias said softly.
