It's taking me some time to get the hang of going from XCTest expectations to using continuations to wait for asynchronous work. At first it felt kinda awkward. And it still is for some patterns. But it's now coming more naturally now. Feels like an improvement.

speaking from behind the lines -- my team was XCTest, which provided UI automation APIs -- UI testing is really, *really* difficult to do well. you often need someone assigned to it *in addition* to individual engineers supplying some tests of their own for their changes. it's a huge resource pull.

to put this into my perspective, i was working on Xcode when the Xcode Cloud project was beginning. i was on XCTest and the thought of developers just being able to Do That was pretty rad. Xcode Server wasn't a huge PITA but it's still Stuff. i want less Stuff and more Run.
skyfeed is cool and does a great job for most folks. but i want to do some things that require me to write code, which means going through All the Bullshit. i really am not interested in Bullshit. i hate environments, containers, servers, fRaMeWoRkSss, etc. i just like to write code.
you know, i'd pay a few bucks a month to have feed hosting from bluesky. no environment or scaffolding to set up and manage, just a place where i can drop code to drive feeds. preview staging, github integration, etc. just the basics.

I've heard from multiple sources, that tests with Swift Testing take dramatically longer than with XCTest because of the macros.
I just bulk-converted 500 tests just to see and the execution time is nearly identical. To be specific, even 1-2 seconds faster.

i used to work on XCTest and something i learned was that as the amount of test code exploded in a project the *harder* it could be to change anything. unless you introduce more abstractions! now you have an unbounded amount of problems understanding the implementation
