Chapter 13 of Thousand Spotlights is out!

"Made to finish my duet"

With the beginning of the off-season, everything Viktor has ignored comes crashing down on him with a vengeance. But even the longest night eventually comes to an end...

Story cover "Beneath the Shine of a Thousand Spotlights" - Yuri!!! On Ice fanfiction by dancing_on_the_blades The picture is a screenshot from #yoi episode 1 where Viktor greets the audience during the medal ceremony. Beneath the Shine of a Thousand Spotlights a #yurionice fanfiction by dancing_on_the_blades Summary: Once upon a time there was a boy with high ambitions and the noble dream to change his sport. But the legacy he created demanded a terrible price: His heart. Twenty years of being Russia’s poster athlete have drained Viktor Nikiforov off his passion for the ice. Caught up in duty and habit he cannot escape the icon he has become. Deep inside him, Viktor knows that he can mask his lack of inspiration with technical prowess and experience only for so long. Eventually, his body will fail him and the darkness he has been warding off with routine will close in on him. Viktor is contemplating giving in to the false promise of retirement when a drunken Japanese Cinderella dances into his life, inspiring a dream of life and love beyond scores and medals. And for the first time in years, Viktor can finally believe that he found the one who finishes his duet. But that which sets his heart on fire also holds the power to throw him into an even darker state of mind, for the image Katsuki Yuuri of Japan etches in Viktor’s heart and soul is that of a male femme fatale rather than a prince. This is my take on the four months between the Sochi GPF and Viktor becoming Yuuri’s coach.

New chapter of my #yurionice continuation "From St. Petersburg with Love" is out!

Yuuri's desire to learn a new quad has sparked a reckless plan in Viktor, for adult activities and negotiating new rink times are not the only way to make up.

From St. Petersburg with Love dancing_on_the_blades Summary: When your greatest dream has come true, when you’ve found the one who finishes your duet, the most compelling tale begins. Yuuri has shown to the world that he can meet Viktor as an equal on the ice. Viktor has found the prince he stopped believing in a lifetime ago. Two hearts, once ready to sacrifice the ice for love, now united on the ice and in love. Determined to win gold before their wedding, Yuuri is burning to compete against his coach and fiancé, while Viktor is ready to break the shackles of his past with his passion rekindled. Now that the lovers have moved in together in St. Petersburg, nothing finally stands between them and their desire to become rivals. Or so they have thought. For sharing a domestic life and adapting to a foreign country comes with new challenges, and a legacy left behind no longer opens every door. And if that wasn’t already a hell of a lot to deal with, a throwaway comment that was meant to be a joke threatens Yuuri’s stay in Russia. Will Stay by my side and never leave be all Yuuri and Viktor need to overcome the obstacles life throws in their path, or will Yuuri come to the realisation that he will never be enough for the Russian Hero?

From my Young Vitya backstory:

Baby Vitya making a formative experience that will greatly impact on his figure skating career: watching Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake. 🦢🤴❤️‍🔥

#wordgamewednesday #ficwip #wipwednesday #yurionice #yoi #yoisky
The prince was still lamenting his misery, when another man entered the stage with lithe but wary steps. He wore nothing but white trousers decorated with long fluffy feathers. Immediately, Vitya knew he was a swan. He bit his lip and leaned over the golden balcony rail to have a better view as the swan swept his bare muscular arms. The prince had already sensed the other presence. He rose and stared at the swan. They circled each other, gazing into the other one’s eyes with an intensity that erected the hairs on Vitya’s arms and made his belly flip over. Then, they started to dance. Preview of the upcoming chapter of my #yurionice post-canon fanfic that follows the boys through the 2nd half of the fs season: Viktor's going to reveal his chaotic side 🤭
The Tale That Never Ends - Chapter 7 preview (by dancing_on_the_blades) “What’s this?” “Oh, those are crackers. Put them back, Yuuri. They’re not on the list.” Viktor spun, scanning the aisle. “I wonder where the noodles are. It’s been a while since I had to shop for groceries.” “You’ve shopped for groceries before I came here.” “Right. But I bought them in a tiny supermarket in the neighbourhood which was open during the holidays. This one orders its items totally differently.” “I cannot help you find them. I’m sorry Viktor. But… I can push the cart!” “Why―oh! You can’t read Cyrillic!” Frowning, Viktor scratched his chin. Then he snatched the shopping list from Yuuri and put it onto a free shelf. Yuuri watched him scribbling on it. “Yuuri, here’s your first lesson in Russian!” Yuuri stared at the messy Cyrillic and the English translations. “I actually recognise some of these, now! Thank you!” “Wonderful! I’ll teach you how they’re pronounced at home. Actually, this gives me some ideas how to quickly increase your vocabulary.” “What’s that?” Yuuri asked when Viktor put a carton on which a cup filled with a brown liquid was printed into the cart. “Cocoa.” “That’s not on the list.” “Right.” Yuuri frowned. “I thought we only buy what’s on the list.” “Right. But I’ve just decided that I want hot chocolate.”

“I really like that you made a programme of our night at the banquet, Viktor.” Yuuri sat on the barrier, his legs dangling against the wooden boards as Viktor glided over to him. Not even once did he lift his gaze off Viktor. “That really surprised me.” “You’re flattering me, Yuuri.” Viktor braked and gripped the barrier to Yuuri’s sides. “But it will never live up to dancing with you.” Yuuri put a finger under Viktor’s chin and lifted it. Mischief glittered in his brown eyes. “We could dance it together, one more time. On the ice.” An electrifying thrill shot right into Viktor’s groin. His intestines contracted in anticipation. He caressed Yuuri’s thighs, deliberately running his thumbs along their inner sides. “I would love to, Yuuri.” “What is unconditional love to you, Viktor?” Viktor closed his hands around Yuuri’s waist. “You.” “No.” Yuuri brushed his lips over Viktor’s. “It’s the ice. Everyone knows, it’s the ice.” Viktor woke in cold sweat and to the sense of his ribcage exploding under the thunderous rhythm of his heart. Why did I dream of him? I haven’t even wasted a thought on him in weeks. He reached for his phone. 2:30 a.m. Viktor rolled around and hugged Makkachin, hoping the soothing presence of the warm, soft body of an animal would send him off to kinder dreams.
