#ZX80
I feel that. I even got it to run once. Think that was on a ZX81. Might even have been a ZX80. Pages and pages of hex. Goddam.

Sinclair officially launched the ZX81 in the US on October 7, 1981 with 20,000 units available for sale, at a price of $149.95 assembled and $99.95 in kit form. As with the ZX80, they sold directly to the American market by mail order, via ads in computer publications and popular consumer magazines.

Superb video from the @retrocollective.co.uk with Martin Wren-Hilton talking about early dev. on the zx80/81 and speccy + The Chess Player. (and proper programming - keying it all in by hand in HEX *grin* :D)

Happy Birthday to the Jupiter Ace.

If you fancy a bit of Forth (or ZX81 BASIC, ZX80 BASIC or Lambda 8300 BASIC) with added RC2014 expansion and maxed out 51K of RAM, check out the Minstrel 4th.

The ZX81 improved on the ZX80's weak points, resulting in a wonderful machine, more popular than its predecessor.

Amazing how quickly sunrise and sunset times are changing as we approach #autumn #equinox, as seen here at Edinburgh Castle, calculated using a #zx80 or #Minstrel2 (8K ROM) supercomputer. github.com/markgbeckett...

レトロな世界に飛び込んじゃおう!✨
List of home computers by video hardware

Tempest for me ❤️ It is indeed a space game 👍 You "warp" into the space beyond, after completing each level 😎

Taken delivery of this today, which (ZX80/81 and Z88 excluded) completes my collection of Sinclair home computers!

OK, so uncle Clive didn't really "market the first personal computer", but nonetheless this is wonderful. #Sinclair #ZX80
[1981] Look East - Neil Lyndon looks at the extraordinary career of Clive Sinclair (30 July 1940 - 16 September 2021). The Cambridge inventor is on the cusp of releasing a new, flatscreen CRT pocket television, which may change television design for ever.

It is informative, just invert everything: good is bad and the other way around. What he accuses others off, is what he does himself. It's as simple as that. Trump's mind could run on a Sinclair ZX80 homecomputer.

Never mind getting two cpus to pass control to each other over the cart port reliably, the zx80 and 6502 work their way through ram in precisely the opposite direction so minus the bits the 64 needs leaves a max accessible 48k, but in practice substantially less after you've loaded any software.

Narrator: he can't. He's the zx80 of the ai world.

I have been experimenting with my own UV printer for keycaps. Just want to make sure my ink doesn't rub off with use so investigating adhesion helpers and spray varnish.

Partly so I can make a mechtrum-ish zx80/81 with my @tynemouthsoftware.co.uk Minstrels :)

J'ai une amertume certaine d'ancien qui a vu naître l'informatique (commodore 64, to7, zx80 & co), d'avoir participé à sa popularisation et au logiciel libre quand je vois ce à quoi j'ai contribué.
