Love the balcony-mounted minisplits. They make these much cheaper and easier to install than roof-mounted arrays (especially with new A2L rules), and limit polluting refrigerant leaks. Planners and building code officials should work together to make sure these are always allowed.

Spanish company EM&E Group has supplied Ukraine with over 11,000 ALKON 122 guidance kits for 122mm Grad rockets. Since 2023, Ukraine received over 10,000 A22 systems (GNSS/INS guidance), plus over 1,000 laser-guided A2L systems delivered since early 2026, developed at Ukraine's request.

It's one of those good news stories that seems to have passed a lot of people by. The A2L refrigerants are expected to have a 99% reduction in global warming potential. They'll also have lower lifecycle emissions. Pair that with more efficient heat pump units and solar... It's an achievement

Seems the outgassing from the insulating foam can trip the dissapation/leak sensors that are part of the new A2L refrigerant systems. This is not a brand specific problem either.
There is no published fix as yet beyond ventilating the building.
