Would you know anything about white limestone plaster as insecticide or acaricide? A few folks at Catal Hayuk told me the inhabitants lived free from ticks, specifically, and a few other crawlies despite being in a marsh because of the plaster. I have found nothing in scientific lit to back that up.

Another 2023 paper investigated the effect of a spider mite pesticide on apples and found thousands of genes differentially expressed. Apple esters decreased with increasing application of the acaricide. I think we'll see more of this kind of research.
