Mulberry from Kanzencord here, I read Ackman for the first time this year in the toriyama manga theater. Is it my favorite toriyama work? not really, but id argue it is Toriyama at his most Toriyama: absurd, silly, funnier than people give it credit for.
Towards the end of Dragon Ball's serialization, Toriyama ran a side series in V-Jump called "Go! Go! Ackman" and they even made an OVA!

Mulberry from Kanzencord here, I read Ackman for the first time this year in the toriyama manga theater. Is it my favorite toriyama work? not really, but id argue it is Toriyama at his most Toriyama: absurd, silly, funnier than people give it credit for.

Both the comic and OVA are very charming! There're definitely some... less than charming gags in there, but nothing too shocking from Toriyama's range of humor. I admit, I am biased toward his juvenile material and simple pay-offs - but also anything "spooky" themed. Can't help but enjoy Ackman.
