Someone I know told me they want to learn Polish to C1 level (Advanced) by June next year. Gotta admire the ambition but that’s straight up impossible, especially for someone who doesn’t speak or has studied any Slavic languages

The school system and my parents deciding that because I could read at an advanced grade level it meant I should also be put in advanced math classes despite my being incredibly terrible at math and getting low D's, and then REFUSING TO EVEN PUT ME IN MATH CLASSES AT MY GRADE LEVEL for SIX YEARS.

Hey, I’m literally answering people‘s questions on here about how to find out who to vote for for Judge. There’s basic voting and then there’s advanced level. And even smart informed people need help on ballot measures and hyper local races but yes, they know who to vote for senate.

In the 4th grade, I was such an advanced reader (already at high school level) that they didn't even bother putting me in a reading group. They just let me sit in the corner on the floor and read whatever I wanted.

In the 4th grade, I was such an advanced reader (already at high school level) that they didn't even bother putting me in a reading group. They just let me sit in the corner on the floor and read whatever I wanted.

Year 6 SATs. Was acing the mocks so parents asked my teacher if I could sit the additional advanced papers to try to get level 6s. She agreed to Maths and Science but not English (my best subject!) because a clean sweep would make me big-headed. 🙃
