Yesterday I observed 15 shackled detainees being loaded on the ICE Air flight at MSP. In this clip, as the last one hobbles on, staff put away a full-body WRAP restraint, which had been laid out next to the airstairs.

Yep he does. You can see him veer to the left away from the line on the pavement that leads to the airstairs, then he has to correct at the end to get back on that line.

i booked a weekend trip to Frankfurt in March mostly so that i could get an A340-600 in the logbook before Lufthansa retires them later this year

My parents started booking wheelchairs because it's the *only* meaningful assistance airlines and airports provide.
There's no option for "I can walk but can't stand in an hour-long queue", or "I can walk 100 metres but not 3 kilometres", or "I can't climb airstairs to a widebody with my bag".

Nor does the FT mention that Ryanair routinely uses BOTH the internal retractable airstairs and normal wheel-em-up airstairs in its operations, and indeed that most LCCs operate without internal airstairs.
