Japanese night. This Yamazaki 18 is like a young Linkwood, not impressive. I picked up these Akkeshis in Kyoto, I hadn't seen them before. They are stunning, maritime, sweet peat, pears poached in syrup. The distillery tries to source everything locally too! #whisky #Japanese #Akkeshi #Yamazaki

I’m A/B comparing these tonight. I’m in love with this Akkeshi, it’s not as similar to Lagavulin as I had first thought, but it it’s not far off. More earthy, less fruity.
