La version 590 est déjà sortie.
Chez Fedora 43 (RPMFusion) akmod-nvidia reste en 580. Comme akmod-nvidia-470xx, le akmod-nvidia-580xx est déjà prêt pour Rawhide.

and theres a funny issue with rpmfusion's nvidia drivers where dnf exits before the akmod has finished building, and you need to make sure you give it enough time to finish in the background before you reboot. and of course this breaks it if you use the "offline" updating feature that reboots it

Yo estoy en Fedora, no vienen OOTB pero añades el repo RPM Fusion y lo instalas sin problemas (el paquete se llama akmod-nvidia)

oh yeah also installing nvidia drivers, the livecd worked just fine, but once ive installed it, it genuinely broke down and i had to run with nomodeset and then install the nvidia akmod from the nonfree repo

I’m on 4.5.1. With a clean Fedora 43 KDE Plasma install and the nvidia akmod drivers, it just worked. I didn’t even know this problem existed until I saw your post. Quite strange.

ive followed the rpmfusion tutorial, and at first i didnt wait the 5 minutes for akmod to recompile the kernel module, so i was very confused as to why the kernel wasn't loading the driver lmao

insmod doesn't work, the akmod version doesn't work, I've honestly given up it would have been quicker from the start tl try random curve optimiser values, test, reboot, and try again atp

lol the nvidia drivers were such a pain for me. on my first attempt at setting up fedora, I followed a recommended guide on installing the drivers manually and messed it up so bad I put my linux setup on pause for a month. then I completely re-installed fedora and used the rpm akmod drivers instead

I’ve had that recently but it turned out that it was caused by akmod compiling a new Nvidia driver during bootup. Leaving it be for a few minutes while the system chewed on it resulted in the system coming up normally after a while with a brand new shiny Nvidia driver. I’m on Fedora 43.

The akmod-nvidia package is supposed to handle automatically installing the necessary kernel module to get the latest Nvidia driver running but it doesn't seem to be working... I was hoping this part would just go without a hitch. I will get through this 😤

Sinon, avec rpmfusion, il est facile de maintenir à jour ses divers NVIDIA, et il me semble que dans les dernières versions, le secure boot est géré par akmod directement

Fedora has them in a repository that is easy to turn on. Then you just install akmod-nvidia and reboot. Manjaro is a fun way to get started with Arch.

okay... Ctrl Alt Del, it seems like what it's gotten "stuck" on is akmod trying to install something to do with the Nvidia driver. black screen again. disk light blinks once every 1.5 seconds almost exactly.

the only hassle free method i found to use nvidia hardware with fedora was docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/gaming... ... I'm personally happy enough with the akmod drivers and fedora KDE (i got some driver issues with display detection, but that's nvidia's fault)
