I believe this is because of antihistamine which is common in a lot of cold/flu and allergy medication. Histamine is the chemical component we naturally make that attacks allergens and results in a lot of the allergic symptoms we get like itchy skin with rashes etc.

I, too,am allergic to wool! If you’re going to knit, you learn to work around it. Those fancy pants hand dyed skeins are soo pretty, though. Every once in awhile I’ll see one I can’t resist and buy it, try to use it, have regrets, and then pass it in to a friend. 😂

I learned how to dye so I could match a special cooling pillowcase to my green Land Rover bedding set, was a long annoying pain in the arse, & at the end of it all I discovered I’m allergic to Rit dye so can’t use it anyway.
