You're obviously missing the point. Montreal is indeed welcoming & a multicultural city. The PQ & CAQ, not so much. Visiting isn't the same as living there as an anglophone/allophone & having to put up with constant pressure to "live" in French, even inside your own home.

I'm used to seeing African orthographies where they have a larger version of the IPA symbol for the capital, e.g. this one by SIL (later updated with schwa and a larger schwa). Will check with the editors if I just drop capitalisation for this chapter

Probably does. Kind of*. Core is a spider 48 which is a cpld implementation of a normal 48, but as is my way, I've added a Yamaha OPL , philips SA1099, SP0256 allophone chip (of currah uspeech fame), a midi interface and Bluetooth.

Yes, of course there is a genuine consistency for it.
There are imo some legitimate grievances among Anglo Quebecers, but I agree that Indigenous peoples (and allophone immigrants) have the most cause for complaint.
