“Bûche De Noël: Alluvia chocolate, Morello cherries, Kirsch.”

Very boozy (I like that). Adorable meringue mushroom. The cherry stem is also chocolate!

This is my final photo from my February visit to Death Valley. While hiking down an alluvia fan, I spotted this white rock cradled by a dead desert holly. Photographed on Fuji Provia 100f 8x10 film with my Chamonix Alpinist X and a Fujinon A 240mm lens.

The plantoids are creatures that inhabit dark and damp parts of Alluvia, cellars and ruins and the like. They are not hostile unless provoked or approached, though some harvest their paralytic spores and sap to create a drug, which is a job that oftentimes turns lethal.

Alluvia by Jason DeCaires Taylor located in (underneath) the river Stour in Kent, UK, 2024. Always worth pausing for, often changed by the conditions of the day and flow of the river. #BlueSkyArtShow #Underneath #Photography #Art #UrbanGaze #EastCoastKin #Saturday #ECK

My favorite part about the darkening year: snow upon the roses. 🌱 Have you ever eaten a frozen rose? It’s a bit like eating a very delicate popsicle.

The Alluvia newly installed sculpture in the Stour River, Canterbury. Designed by Jason deCaires Taylor. Ophelia inspired. Has drawn criticism already with calls for its removal.

we're 6 weeks out from the release of The Shoes of the Fisherman's Wife and i thought id share one of my favorites from the collection, Lay Prone; a piece about how society continually tells Blackness that it only has value when it lessens itself before it.

I think you can’t beat the RG midnight black beans; pinto beans; garbanzos; and alluvia blancas. We’re bean club members and so have tried a bunch of other beans, but always come back to those 4.

The new statue of Alluvia in the River Stour by the Westgate Towers in Canterbury.

Honestly, having the new statue light up at night doesn't really help with the criticism that it's a bit disturbing.
