Rising river levels overnight may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible on 04 September 2026 .  Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads along the River Amber around Ambergate. Heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. I’m making a further series of card constructions that form the supports for painted pieces, following on from the Lucens Rupes Silvae works, two of which were shown back in 2025 at the enterprising Wireworks in Ambergate.  Although these newer pieces share characteristics with the earlier ones they are not exclusively connected but take the ancient woodland theme into other directions. Nonetheless the recent exhibition at the Haarlem Artspace ‘A Shimmering Tangle’ focussed on a micro residency in Shining Cliff Woods (the backdrop to The Wireworks Project) suggested I should pay it a visit.
