The rise of larger vehicles like SUVs and pickup trucks, with their taller hoods and larger blind zones, has contributed to a 75% increase in pedestrian and cyclist deaths since 2009.

Until we design better streets and ban these vehicles, people outside these vehicles will keep dying.

Anchorage Police Dept & Alaska State Troopers are pulling over Alaska Native people for the sole purpose of demanding ID & proof of citizenship in the Anchorage area. AK Legal Support & AK Native Justice Ctr are scrambling to help but aren't prepared to handle this.

I left after my testimony tonight but the tally I kept in the queue up until then was overwhelmingly opposed to AO74. The Anchorage community doesn't want to criminalize vulnerable neighbors. Lets build real solutions that actually benefit people instead of perpetuating harm.

Heard some fantastic testimony in support of HB69 & HB78 (School funding & public service pensions).

Volland, you do realize that folks who reject resources when offered aren't just being obstinate or whatever you're alleging tonight.

Their refusal comes after a lifetime of being victimized & criminalized by the systems that operate such resources.

I know many residents have likely returned their ballots by now so it's probably a bit late to post my preliminary results on the use of transphobic rhetoric by candidates this round.

But here it is.
