Pretty Isha today. It’s still smoky here so the animals are relatively subdued. We’re also experiencing a heat wave. Just keeping everyone as relaxed, watered and fed as possible.

Laurie and Lettie (mom/daughter) are inseparable. I find that goats form very close relationships. Not that sheep don’t love their offspring but goats are next level. I think Lettie would die of a broken heart if she were ever separated from her mom.

Got the goats’ hooves done at the Potala Gate site. They are looking good. Goat hooves are so much softer than sheep hooves and require regular maintenance to ensure that hoof scald or rot doesn’t set in.

Basil and Blair were sheared the same time as the sheep… however Blair and Basil don’t have a lot of body fat so they will be wearing these calf coats till they put a bit more weight on
