ANGWIN: Higher spending. More debt. Fewer users. “This is a company entering its zombie era. .. we will all get to watch Mr. Zuckerberg drive the company into the ground.”

In Opinion

For eight months, Grammarly offered A.I.-generated editing suggestions, supposedly from writers like Stephen King, Kara Swisher, Julia Angwin and more — without their knowledge. “In this global crisis of consent, we must grab hold of the few anchors we have for enforcement,” Angwin says.

After switching her phone to black and white, Julia Angwin writes, “an invisible cord had been severed. I would leave my phone in my room when I walked from my home office to the kitchen. I would forget to check it for hours instead of minutes.”

I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.

State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

Angwin:
“Six months ago Trump called his Iran war a “little excursion.” Today oil hit $100, diesel set an all-time record, and Americans just paid the highest Labor Day gas prices ever. He promised $2 gas. The pump says $4.22. This is his war.”

Richard Angwin asked this question? Are there any answers?

1. Julia Angwin is awesome.

2. I checked Ohio's laws and if I am also in this "expert review" database (I can't go in and check, I don't have an account), Grammarly also violated my publicity rights under the laws of my state.
