i will take anabolic steroids but antihypertensives are a no from me dawg

I personally find this concerning, but antihypertensives render me completely, clearly-not-a-placebo nonfunctional, so there’s not much I can do
By the way my systolic blood pressure as of an hour ago is apparently ~170 mmHg. I know this because she told me. But sure, no CPAP required

I’m just going to say fuck it and start on some Xanax and antihypertensives now. This piece of shit is just so fucking infuriating and I will likely have a stroke before his term is done. At this rate, I might have one before it starts. SO. FUCKING. STUPID.

Who needs antihypertensives when you can snuggle a little 4 lb baby.

Ah antihypertensives

One off doses of antihypertensives for asymptomatic hypertension is associated with increased risk of AKI.

Similarly randomly throwing darts in the air for no reason is associated with increased risk of ADITH.*

Will this madness never end?

Why am I, the pain physician, taking 3 antihypertensives off your med list that you haven’t taken in 5+ years

would not start antihypertensives.

would discharge home immediately (it doesn’t seem like this admission is even indicated?)

outpatient followup

honestly this guy needs good outpatient management, not a fancy hospitalization that will be super expensive

For a man hospitalized for uncomplicated diverticulitis who is found to have high blood pressure, would you support watchful waiting or recommend inpatient treatment of the high blood pressure? Read the case vignette, treatment options, and vote: nej.md/485a82I

This is basic stuff, but please report vitals, and please address trends.

Please tell our night floats that PRN antihypertensives will result in great anger and furious vengeance. (6/16)

👤 Adults >18 yrs with “resistant” HTN:
✅ SBP 140–180 mmHg or DBP 90–110 mmHg
✅ On 2–5 stable antihypertensives
Any comments #NephJC

Helping Oolong use his ketamine is probably interacting with his antihypertensives &/or anxiolytics.
How long has it been since Trump showed his face in public? And now he hasn’t posted to social media (other than stuff obviously from his handlers) in four days. When is the media going to talk about the fact that Trump won and then disappeared? At what point do we start asking for proof of life.

In much of medicine, new drugs are twinned with companion diagnostics. Blood pressure monitoring for antihypertensives; bone densitometry for osteoporosis drugs, etc. How can we ensure drug susceptibility testing is developed and deployed for the next TB antibiotic?

5️⃣Primary aldosteronism screening – screen all adults with resistant HTN regardless of potassium level (COR I, LOE B-NR). Continue most antihypertensives except MRA before testing (COR I, LOE C-EO).
📝Is screening worthwhile or should we just be using MRAs earlier? #NephJC

and the thing is I'm not even saying "oh no, woe is me" - $15000 would buy a lot of antibiotics and antihypertensives and statins, or it could buy 8 doses of my son's biologic. These decisions really *do* have to get made by *somebody*.

We discuss guest Athanase Benetos's study that found no difference in mortality between deprescribing antihypertensives and usual care in frail nursing home residents. We also interview Mike Steinman. #medsky

Only reason to sequence the RASi first is that they are good antihypertensives (but note the BP effect in the combo arm of #confidence) #nephjc

But no matter the sequence, the goal should be to have someone on the four pillars in less than 6 months

I want the chart of numbers of pediatricians needing antihypertensives before 2025 and now. I don't know how you guys and gals do it, but thanks.
