I'm looking for PhD student to join my lab at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (Fall 2027)! If you're interested in evolutionary genomics, conservation genetics, or biogeography, please reach out.

I'll also be at #AOS2026 this week talking about sexual selection in small populations.

I'll be talking about this at #AOS2026 in August btw!
Excited to share the (modest) results of our monitoring of bird-building collisions at Rice University, along with the hot and probably ill-informed takes of an evolutionary biologist dabbling into conservation for the first time!!! With huge thanks to...

Serious FOMO not being at #AOS2026 but great to see former mentees meeting up with current grads and making connections through shared love of #manakins!

Some birds take their backpacking plans very seriously, they head straight for the mountains. But what happens when they reach (or we take them) the summit without oxygen tanks?

Join my talk at #AOS2026 #AOS26 tomorrow, 11:45 AM–12:00 PM, Genomics 2, Room 163.

The Behavioral Complexity and Causality Lab will be at #AOS2026 this week! We're excited to share our work and hear about yours. Come find Patrick Kelley, Zach Holmes, Michael Castano, or Jess Kowalski to talk birds, behavior, causality, or anything in between. See you there!

Inspiring talk by Dr. Brennan at #AOS2026 about bird genitalia and about the value of being open to surprising findings in the natural world, particularly where paradigms are concerned. She reminds us that “The tinamou has not read Trivers’ paper” on how his species’ behavioral ecology might work.

It's my presentation day at #AOS2026!

Come see my talk in Acoustic Monitoring 2 at 4:15 pm where I'll talk about my ARU and transect study!

Oh and for those of you who will be at #AOS2026 next week, come see me talk about this work on Wed afternoon! I’ll try my best not to rant about peer-review again…
To the reviewer and AE who were *adamant* that we should delete these watercolors: FYI im getting loads of compliments on them. Everyone says we need more art like that in peer-reviewed pubs.
Also check out these GORGEOUS watercolors by Rice biology/art student Caroline Pollan!
