more like a form of aphasia?

I’m lucky I have a job where sometimes just showing up is enough, but I do wish migraines did not give me aphasia because it makes talking to patrons very uncomfortable.

No matter how detailed your writing, how much time you've put into composing it & documenting all of the intricacies, that call will then ask all of the questions that your message previously answered!

It was frustrating enough as an introvert, trying throw aphasia into the mix 🤣

once again almost faved/reposted something actually very objectionable bc on second look i reversed the cause-effect arrow of the syntax: the aphasia sufferer's curse

AI speech interpretation for expressive aphasia faces a strict safety boundary: models below 1.5B parameters trigger severe hallucinations, while larger lightweight models achieve sub-second latency.

Aphasia CRE – New MMAT Tele Trial Website Now Available for Speech Pathologists
The MMAT Tele trial is still recruiting and needs just 22 more people with post-stroke aphasia to complete this stage of the study. This important research is exploring the feasibility and acceptability of a behavioural aphasia intervention. The results will help us understand more about delivering aphasia intervention over telehealth during the pivotal first 12 months post stroke. We have just launched a new website for the study!

It's difficult to read aphasia into the paleontological and archeological record so one is only left to assume that it's impact must have been wholly massive.

whenever i can't remember a word, the one word that DOES inevitably pop into my mind and refuse to leave is always "aphasia"

My GP was all "this appointment could have been a phone call" and I was all "I KNOW I had something to ask but I've forgotten what it is.

Migraine season is in full operation, tho, so I remember nothing and didn't make notes.

(It's probably related to the aphasia)

Currently unable to feel the left side of my body from my waist up.
I can type. I can speak, sort of.
I don't have aphasia which means probably silent migraine.
My brain is insisting my left arm is 20 feet long although the other part of my brain knows that to be untrue.

I repeat, bodies are RUDE.
This is not nearly as fun as one might think.

I am on day 4 of a flare w/my spinal cord issue, and I either have a silent migraine or am about to be hospitalized w/pain from a hemiplegic migraine.

Bodies are RUDE.

Hmmm. Perhaps her experience in working on a subject like post-stroke aphasia might have come in handy.

Driving. New Jersey. Heard a song. Recognized it from Back in ye Day. Aphasia kicked in and I could NOT articulate the band’s name. What came out:

“Stygian Cabaret.”

Me: Come on, man. That ain’t right. It’s got the guy. With the hair. With the hair and the lips.

20 minutes later: “Aerosmith.”
