De warmtepomp heet 'vaillant arotherm plus'. Die is iig geschikt voor radiatoren en maakt geen geluid waar je last van kan hebben.

I’m in a small Enerphit, peak heat demand about 1700W or 16 W/m2, with rads. My 3.5kW Arotherm+ with a 50L volumiser and 120L system volume with emitters for DT=10-15K cycles about 1/h in the worst (mild) conditions, which costs a bit of COP, but I still get a SCOP of about 3.5. It’s fine.

Finally, just to say that the user guide for the Vaillant arotherm heat pump you mentioned at the end would be invaluable. Involved in a “net zero neighbourhood” project and it’d be so useful for householders and for local authority staff supporting them. Agree handbook is incomprehensible.

"A MiniStore Tall would give you a 10 minute shower at 8L/min flow rates with a 55°C store temperature" – for what it's worth, that's exactly the performance I get with a MiniStore Fat, 40°C shower temperature, and a 5 kW Arotherm Plus

Vaillant are bringing out a new version of the AroTherm+ heat pump in Germany. Interestingly it seems Vaillant might finally be addressing the issue of post-install optimisation:

I think Vaillant Arotherm Plus monoblocs are reversible, as are some Daikin. But the installer will need to make sure you don’t get condensation forming on the water pipes, or you will have real problems …
