OK. This week. Has to be more under control. Really. In terms of school planning, artmaking, all the things. I'm already behind of course. Grades aren't done (due tomorrow), didn't do half the things I needed to this weekend. I did pick up two quilts, one from the photographer (see below) and one from a show that closed. She said my piece was very popular, which is cool.

Our group recently learned the art of bookbinding from HTA #survivorleader and local artist Alex Velazquez-Brightbill. We believe #healing practices like #artmaking must go hand-in-hand with advocacy. By fueling our hearts and minds we can think up bold, creative solutions for safety.

I am still recovering from a breakdown, a surgery, and jet lag. I'm asleep literally half the day atm. The other half is conversations, talks, and artmaking.

His writings have appeared in Rabbit: a journal for nonfiction poetry and Storia della storiografia. He is interested in the possibility of artmaking as a spiritual discipline.

It's my One Year of Drawing anniversary this month! Here's a compilation of everything I drew during the last year.

I'll re-do this post when AO3 is back so I can link the authors properly, but in the meantime, here's the book that got me back into art:

There hasn’t been a lot of artmaking going on, which frustrates me…but I am strangely obsessed with this scrap I inherited. All done sorting tiny pieces.

i hope the sanctity of art is destroyed 1000 times over. i hope 50years from now theres a moral panic about the Death Of Art for reasons we cant even imagine or predict rightnow. i hope artmaking evolves forever and ever and bulldozes every definition and limitation put on it over and over forever

I love movies so much. I love everything about them. I love how they let you see into someone else’s creativity wholly, I love a paramilitary approach to artmaking, I love sitting and watching them and thinking about them for years after the plot details have gone fuzzy and only the love remains

I’ve spent the last few weeks of venus rx in my 6H stumbling through the process of fitting artmaking into my weekly routine. Hopefully that’ll feel more natural when it is direct in my 6H. For now, I’m curious if the 5H rx will affect the type or topics of art I feel drawn towards.

seeing more art made thru traditional means certainly feels political, w a.i. devaluing the labor, skills, & philosophical aspects of artmaking

art doesn't NEED to be made w physical materials to have value, but i like the emphasis on human skill remaining consistent, no matter WHERE the art exists
