#asexuality
CFA literally used their profits to finance the Nigerien junta that just the other day resulted in Niger being the first country to "outlaw" asexuality, so, yeah agreed.

learning that asexuality existed and i could be one

Also, I don't know if this is the asexuality talking, but I don't seem to get crushes on fictional characters?

The closest I can recall is going "this character's romantic dynamic with this other character is cute"

OK we thought about it for 2 more seconds and we think we might have dissociated heavily when in sexual environments which probably contributes towards somewhat to our mix of Bisexuality and Asexuality

Dirty Bird had me questioning my asexuality

This is one of the best descriptions of asexuality (at least how it applies to me) that I’ve seen lol

Recently I've learned how isolating the #asexuality spectrum is.

I thought being demi meant I'd be fine, but most gay men are _obsessed_ with adult stuff - it feels as if they basically never talk about anything else.

To me, unless it's about my partner, it's like they're fascinated with sneezing.

I can't wait for the Ace Week episode of the Aspec Podcast, on Sunday Oct 25 at 3pm EDT, where we will be chatting with @dbrivera55.bsky.social and @ekkotronic.bsky.social about Ace Week, the invisibility of Asexuality, and why Ace Week is so important for Asexual visibility!

The chair of the World Professional Association on Transgender Health agrees with me that iatrogenic asexuality is wrong. #GayIsOK - bariweiss.substack.com/p/top-trans-...

writing smut until AFTER I realized I was Ace.

So yeah. I'm 33 now and more comfortable with my asexuality than ever. I am CisHet. I'm also Aegosexual. It's a thing, and it's me. Hi!!!

the vast majority of them were/are also LGBTQ+, it still meant I was risking losing them if they were of the camp that thought asexuality wasn't a real or valid identity.

Thankfully, I didn't lose a single friend. They all accepted me, and encouraged me, and I had a friend who also realized he

wasn't a part of the community.

Fast forward to when I was pretty sure I was Ace, but still felt like I wasn't allowed to do pride things, because asexuality "doesn't count". I was worried my friends would think I was just a ~CisHet~ trying to be Special, and might see me differently. Even though

I discovered asexuality at a time when the discourse surrounding it and whether it was a "real" or "enough" of an identity to "count" as LGBTQ+ was at some of its most vicious. I felt like I'd found something that described me, but it seemed like everyone else thought Aces were just "straights"

I start seeing LGBTQ+ discourse and explanations and such.

That's how I learned about asexuality. Up until then, I just figured I was straight but hadn't found the mystical One(TM) that'd suddenly make me hot and bothered. But I read up about asexuality and went "Oh. This is me."

The problem was:

MISSY LORE TIME

So, I didn't know asexuality was a thing until I was in my 20s (~a decade ago). It just seemed like everyone was talking about sex all the time & I thought it HAD to be an exaggeration. A joke I wasn't in on. Literally "Who has time for that? I have homework due tomorrow" in HS.

How I explain asexuality: You're all cute, so none of you really stand out

How I explain panromantic: Your vibe is really good, so everything you do has me looking dreamily at you

listened to Ace by Angela Chen and it was SO interesting and also anytime I read something about asexuality I'm like "I need to be doing more ace activism it's important"

I'm reading a book about asexuality. I'm not ace at all, but I wanted to understand it better.

The author is talking about how demisexuality is often mocked (unfairly so)--and it gave me a thought.

recognize that not everyone needs or wants that. Asexuality is not a choice. Some of us are born repulsed, need deeper connections, don’t care and/or are happy with other forms of physical affection, and I am elated that the developer community is out there making games that 6/7

i had been casually researching asexuality my first couple of years of college and finding a lot of dots connecting, which resulted in a revelation of 'huh, this explains why i blew off that hook up my roommate tried to set me up with to play his copy of ocarina of time'

Lo and behold, I discover asexuality in my 20s and have myself a "I should have probably figured this out sooner." moment.

Fun fact! I was terrified to come out to my husband, then boyfriend, because I thought he might break up with me.

The only thing he said was "Oh! Well that explains a lot."

Also thought I was nonbinary a couple times and tbh I’m still questioning it idk wtf is up with my gender and a lot of it relates to my asexuality so it’s hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. Oh and me being neurodivergent and never feeling like I fit in with other girls ofc

so what? even if you're ace it's 1st of all just a username and 2nd of all asexuality is a spectrum
