This also means that if you go to a pharmacy to get it you don’t have to provide self attestation of co-morbidities to get it; it’s for everyone. You can show the new CDC guidelines to your pharmacist if you have any trouble.

Assuming CDC formally adopts ACIP's recommendations, CVS tells me it will provide Covid vaccines without a prescription in all 50 states and won't require even self-attestation of a qualifying condition — "it’s up to the individual patient."

I have reached out to CVS, Walgreens and Walmart to ask how they will apply these recommendations to people seeking vaccines at their pharmacies. I cannot provide any info on how this will affect your ability to get a vaccine right now, because I don't know yet.

ANDROID_ID is a per-app-per-profile random ID. Not clear why they would need it. Android has privacy-preserving hardware-based attestation if they're talking about making it harder to spoof a location. Can't prevent either iOS or Android users making false reports via attestation APIs regardless.

Unified Attestation is another anti-competitive system being pushed by multiple European companies. It will similarly lock people out from using arbitrary hardware and software. That's not a solution and is far worse than Android's much more open hardware attestation API.

Android provides a standard hardware attestation system with support for alternate operating systems via allowing their verified boot key fingerprints. It's mainly used with Google's root of trust and remote key provisioning service but the API supports alternative roots of trust.

No wonder 3rd party Android forks are basically dead.

Many people saw that as harmless since few sites would be willing to lock out non-Apple-hardware users. Apple and Google are both likely to bring broader hardware attestation to the web.
